Panchayat Academy, Kuthambakkam

     The Trust for Village Self Governance [TVSG] is a registered charitable trust. Initiated with the goal of promoting village based, self- sustaining, self- governing economic development, Panchayat to Panchayat sharing of best practices about building a land / agriculture based village economy and the creation of role model Panchayat to make them truly self- Governing institutions as envisaged in the 73rd constitutional amendment.

By making Kuthambakkam a model panchayat, it would become a learning centre for other panchayats. In this way 25 - 30 panchayat presidents have been trained monthly in the panchayat academy. The training will be on, the activities done in Kuthambakkam, the ongoing projects, Duties and Rights of Village panchayats, 243G and 29 subjects given for panchayats, planning at the panchayat level, Disaster management and mitigation training, rural industries and field exposure.

Project activities planned to address by the Panchayat Academy.

• Establishing transparent and clean grass root administration.
• Establishing people participation in all developmental works.
• Networking these efforts.
